Research on Long Term Impact of Development Interventions in Koshi Hill

FDM as the local partner of GRM International was involved in providing management support for its one-year research program on Long Term Impact of Development Interventions in the Koshi Hills of Nepal, commissioned by DFID in collaboration with the National Planning Commission. The study was aimed at assessing the impact of development interventions supported by a range of actors, including Government of Nepal, donors, NGOs and the private sector, in the Koshi Hills of Nepal over the past 40 years. The research assessed the contribution of these interventions on the social and economic development of the region by focusing on road corridors in the Koshi Hills. A key element of the study was to test the rigor of retrospective evaluations of long-term aid. For this, FDM provided office facilities, administrative support and technical assistance.
