Role of media in democratization in Nepal post Constitution promulgation
FDM will conduct a study on role of media in democratization in Nepal post Constitution promulgation for Governance Facility (GF-Nepal). The study will focus on four core indicators of democratization – freedom, accountability, stability and corruption. As the part of the study, FDM will undertake a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) covering 100 samples each in Siraha, Dhanusha, Banke, Surkhet, Kathmandu and Lalitpur. The study will make a comparison of 4As (Availability, Accessibility, Affordability and Attainability) of media across diverse sociopolitical contexts of each study district and will also document general public perceptions about the credibility of media in terms of coverage on issues related to democratization. Apart from that, the study will also analyze role of media in opinion-making during major socio-political-economic events occurred after the promulgation of Constitution of Nepal in 2015.
