Project Addendum of Dalit Empowerment Project
Dalit Empowerment Project (DEP) was a three-year project funded under UK Department for International Development (DFID) Nepal’s Enabling State Program (ESP). The overall objective of the project was to increase access to socio-economic opportunities among the Dalits. Its three major outputs focused on institutional capacity development; better access and utilisation of health facilities, education and economic opportunities; and more strategic lobbying and advocacy to influence policy in favor of Dalit issues. Based on the OPR and mid term evaluation of the project, FDM supported DNF to develop an addendum of DEP. The project document and budget were revised based as part of addendum of DEP. In order to identify the major changes needed in the project document for effective and efficient implementation, a round table meeting was organised between DNF and ESP representatives. The meeting focused on the recommendations and major findings presented by the OPR report. Based on the recommendations provided by the OPR report, the key areas for change and additional activities were identified. The key deliverables were revised log frame, revised action plan, revised management cost, revised activity cost and overall budget. Job description of additional project staff was also developed.
