Midline Evaluation Services for Supporting the Education of Marginalised Girls in Kailali (STEM II)
Supporting the Education of Marginalized Girls in Kailali II (STEM II) seeks to empower marginalized girls in the Far Western district of Kailali to access education, safe and secure economic activities, and thrive in a supportive environment. In the district of Kailali, gender-based discriminatory practices - early marriage, dowry, seclusion/limited mobility, inequitable access to and control over economic assets and property all contribute to the marginalization of girls and results in low livelihood chances. 36% of girls aged 10-14 do not transition from primary to secondary school in the district resulting in more than 50% of girls aged 15-19 who are not enrolled in school compared to only 23% of boys and almost half (48%) married by the age of 18 and many by the age of 15.
After the completion of baseline on January 2018, FDM will undertake the midline evaluation of the project on November 2018. The midline evaluation will compare and contrast the status of the target beneficiaries against the indicators spelled out in the M and E framework.
