Impact Assessment of Police Units in Nepal’s Internal Peace and Security
FDM carried out an impact assessment study to evaluate the performance of Nepal Police (NP) in relation to the proximity of police station buildings in selected target districts. The research assessed the working conditions, service delivery, psychological issues of police, their families and of the public, along with public perception of police service delivery, the situation of security and rule of law in the community. Methodologies such as questionnaire survey and secondary data review, focus group discussions, in-depth interview, observation, media scan, photographic documentation of the selected areas, and case study documentation were used for the research. The key stakeholders of the research were police personnel, district administrative officers, local bodies, government officers, media, human rights group and so forth.
